Lynx have become an attractive topic for electronic media due to their status as one of Macedonia’s flagship species and their secretive nature and lives. As a result of MES’s central role in spreading information regarding this species, Dime Melovski and Gjorgi Ivanov were invited by several TV and radio stations to participate in daily programmes. In these interviews, the opportunity was given to explain almost all of MES’s activities within the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme as well as other topics relating to lynx. These interviews were a great help in presenting the ecology and status of lynx to the public. The importance and necessity of starting the Lynx Recovery Programme was also conveyed. Overall, these interviews helped to raise public awareness and promote the idea of lynx conservation on a broad scale.
